For sale here is a LH Design Sapphire 4/5 reel with two spools.
Leen Huisman from The Netherlands has been making fly rods and reels for over 30 years. His designs and exquisite craftsmanship are very well-respected worldwide, and by reviewing the photos of this reel, you will see why.
The Sapphire reel (also known now as Series D) features a frame made of 100% titanium and a spool made from PEI (polyetherimide), an advanced thermoplastic. It also comes with a second spool, this one being a ventilated titanium spool. The reel has a fixed two-way click system with equal click tension each way, so the reel can be fished right or left hand retrieve with adequate tension. The reel features a Bickerdyke-style line guard, made of stainless spring steel in a traditional design. The spool is 2.8" in diameter (with the frame being 3") with a spool width of 0.80". The reel weighs 4.40 oz. with the PEI spool and 4.55 oz. with the titanium spool. Capacity is a WF4F line plus 50 yds of 20# backing. It also comes with the original black fleece reel pouch and red spare spool pouch. The reel is in excellent used condition with minimal signs of use and a bit of buggering to the spool screw. - We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
