For sale here is a Dave Male 7'9" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. The rod is in excellent condition. All sections are full length and straight. Chestnut wraps and black tipping. Black, gold, and burgundy tipping at the winding check, and ferrules. One of the tip-tops features bright red wraps tipped black while the other features chestnut tipped black. Blued guides. There are two bronzed stripping guides on the butt section. Bronzed, ring hook-keeper. The butt is ever so lightly swelled. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Reverse half wells grip 5 1/4" in length. The grip is moderately soiled but free of hook gouges, ridging, or other defects. Bright nickel silver cap and ring reel seat with a unique and highly figured mortised walnut spacer. The top of the spacer swells to form the bottom portion of the grip. The blued ferrules are size 12/64, the fit is perfect. The action is medium-fast. A very versatile rod. John Gierach describes a 7'9" 5wt as the perfect trout rod. The rod includes its original flower print bag. The original aluminum tube is included as well. Those who fish Male's rods speak very highly of their quality and his craftsmanship.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
