A Marc Aroner Hunt Pattern bamboo fly rod, 7’6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Possibly lawn cast, otherwise it's as it left the shop to the customer’s hands twenty five years ago. 4.6 ounces. Fast D.F. action and one of my favorite tapers over many years. Flamed cane with lighter three-up nodes. The tips are mirrored. Perfect varnish, like a pane of glass. The main wraps are olive with red edges. #10 perfection stripper and black H.S.S. high-arch paddlefoot snakes. The swiss style ferrules are oxidized, with a small collar on the males with an inset slant knurl in a semi-truncated style). The ferrules are outfitted with cork-and-brass ferrule plugs. The grip is 5 1/2" and turned to a western style with a hidden pocket cap. The up-locking screw lock is black anodized aluminum and my own manufacture. The slide is pared off from the nut and is stamped “Aroner, Maker.” The mortised reel seat spacer is made of a spectacular piece of koa and is varnished with the same result as the rod’s shaft. The rod packs into a gun color cloth poplin bag and the aluminum tube is polished and fitted with brass hardware and a protective overbag. A terrific rod for dry fly fishing the Delaware or larger waters where you want a little extra authority.
