A nice Marty Karstetter hollow-built bamboo rod, 8'3" 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #4 or #5 line. Marked weight of 3 1/2 oz and my scale has it very close at 3.45 oz. Serial #22315. Two-opposed node construction with a medium wheat straw color. Medium fast action with a fairly stiff butt and and delicate tips. Near mint condition, appears to have been only very lightly fished and well cared for. Light caramel colored wraps, with darker chestnut tipping at the winding check, ferrules, and tip-tops. The ferrules are an oxidized truncated swiss design and wrapped black at the base. Agate stripping guide. Excellent varnish throughout. Modified full wells grip of 12 corks that measures 6" long. Walnut spacer with an oxidized lightweight cap and ring. The butt cap shows light wear around the edge from being taken in and out of the bag, and there is some very light scuffing to the spacer from a reel foot. The ferrule fits are nice and tight. The rod is reasonably straight though both tips have a mild downstream set in them about 2/3 of the way toward the tip. Includes the original bag and tube with Karstetter label.
