A nice Marty Karstetter hollow built bamboo rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #5 line. Serial #20013. Two-opposed node construction with a medium wheatstraw colored cane. Rod weighs 3.7 ounces on my scale, with a medium fast action. Excellent used condition with some soiling to the grip, some reel food indentations on the spacer, and a small hook dig in the cane above the stripping guide, but in nice condition overall. Good varnish throughout. Light caramel colored wraps with chestnut tipping at the winding check, stripping guide, ferrules, and tip-tops. Agate stripping guide. Truncated and oxidized swiss style ferrules. Modified Powell style grip 5 7/8" in length which has some hand soiling. Oxidized cap and ring reel seat over a mortised walnut spacer. The cap and ring have a bit of brassing to them. The ferrule fits are nice and tight and the rod is generally straight, though one tip has a mild-to-moderate downstream set in it, and the other a mild one. Comes with original bag and aluminum rod tube with logo.
