For sale here is an early Orvis 7'0" 5wt 2 pc. graphite fly rod. The rod is in excellent condition though it does show a bit of honest wear. There is an unknown brown residue around the butt of the rod, see pictures. The rod features an unsanded graphite blank with transparent beige colored wraps. Bright guides with a ceramic stripper and tip-top. The sections fit together nice and tight as they should. Petite cigar grip 5 5/8" in length with moderate soiling. Dual aluminum sliding band reel seat over mortidsed cork. The aluminum "button" butt cap is inscribed with the rod information. There is a bit of wear to the cork around the rim of the butt. The rod weighs a lean 1.70 oz. The action is fast but with feel but with more feel and give than modern graphite. A wonderful classic graphite rod perfect for water where casting space is limited. Includes the original bag and tube with maroon and silver foil label. The black plastic tube cap remains in excellent condition with sharp threads and void of cracks.
