Orvis Battenkill 6' Bamboo Rod - early 1940s!

VFT11212

For sale here is a very rare Orvis 6' Battenkill bamboo rod from late 1942 (Wes Jordan era). Serial #0460. Two sections with two tips. There's been quite a bit of speculation that Pinky Gillum, who worked at Orvis for a couple of years in the early 40s, may have been involved with the production of this rod. George Halstead was also at Orvis during this time frame. Overall the rod is in excellent + and original condition. The rod weighs 2 3/8 oz. Size 11/64 ferrules. Powerful fast action little rod!The rod's varnish remains in amazing condition. The rod boasts stunning silk wraps, copper colored with brown edges. The early nickel silver cap and ring and ferrules are darkly blued. Comes with original olive bag and possibly a replacement tube.

Don't miss this opportunity to acquire a possibly unique and very historic rod in wonderfully preserved condition!
