For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 8'3" 2/2 6-7wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 63700, made in 1971 by Ron White. Staggered ferrule construction. The butt section measures 48" while the tips are 52". This was a special series of rods made for Dan Bailey's Fly Shop in Livingston, Montana. The rod remains in excellent+ condition. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features darkly tempered cane with transparent caramel wraps and bright guides. Three carbaloy strippers on the butt section. The script remains clean and bold. The varnish over the script and wraps is also in excellent condition. U-shaped hook-keeper. The cigar grip is 6 5/8" in length with only light soiling. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The ferrules are size 13/64 with a perfect fit. The rod weighs 4.55 oz. The action is medium fast. Includes the original bag and tube with green and silver label.
