Orvis Battenkill 8'6 2/2 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 8'6" 2/2 6wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 34263. Made in April of 1963. The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length with sets sin both tips.

Chestnut brown wraps over medium-dark tempered cane. Lightly blued guides. The script remains clean and bold. The cigar-style grip measures 6 3/8" in length and appears to have been cleaned with light ridging. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The blued ferrules are size 14/64 with an excellent fit.  The rod weighs 6 1/4 oz. The dry-fly action is in the faster side of medium-fast with plenty of authority and might also suit a 7wt line. A perfect streamer rod. Includes the original bag and tube with blue and gold label though there is a slight dent in the tube at the label.

Don't miss out on this original Battenkill just waiting for woolly buggers and hopper-droppers.
