For sale here is an Orvis Battenkill impregnated 8'6" 3/2 - 4 5/8 oz. bamboo rod. Serial #13872. The rod was made in 1952 by George Reid and Cal Skinner. Excellent condition. All wraps are sound, the rod is full length and straight. Chestnut brown wraps over medium dark tempered cane. Cigar/western style grip is comfortable in the hand. The cork is very clean. Aluminum down-locking reel seat with walnut spacer. Ferrule sizes 16/64 and 10/64 with a great fit. Medium-fast action. Described as a 7wt on the tube but would do best a line size down as with most older Orvis rods. Actual rod weight is 4 3/4 oz. Rod comes with original gray bag and original Orvis tube with blue and gold foil label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
