For sale here is an Orvis Odyssey III fly reel. Made in the U.S.A.. The reel continues to enjoy quite the cult following 20+ years after being introduced. Designed by Jim LePage for Leigh Perkins at Orvis and marketed in the Orvis catalogs beginning in 1994, the reel was ahead of its time performance-wise but because of its unconventional appearance and poor promotion it soon vanished from the catalogs.
The features include a palming rim, two inch diameter cork/composite drag surface, recessed counterweight, smooth radiused edges, knurled drag-adjustment knob, and line-out click / silent retrieve.

The reel is in excellent condition having been very lightly fished. Direct drive. Right hand retrieve although I think it can be converted fairly easily to left. Weight 11 oz. Diameter 3 7/8 oz.
Comes with its original zippered Battenkill reel case.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
