For sale here we have the interesting Orvis "Pace Changer" impregnated bamboo rod - 7' or 7'3" for a 5wt line. The rod comes with two different tips lengths; one creating a 7' rod and the other a 7'3" hence the name "Pace Changer". Serial no. 80136. Made in 1977. The rod remains in excellent+ condition. All sections are full length and straight.
Moderately tempered cane with chestnut wraps. The wrap varnish, as well as the varnish over the script, remains flawless. Ring hook keeper. The cigar grip measures 5 7/8" in length with only light soiling. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The step-down ferrules have an excellent fit. In the 7' configuration the rod has a medium-fast action; in the 7'3" the rod is a bit slower and capable of more finesse, although still medium-fast overall. Described as a 6wt as is usual a line size down works best. The weight of the rod is 3.50 oz. with both tips. Original bag and tube with green and silver foil label with hexagonal cap. Also includes the original rod care pamphlet.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
