Orvis Rivermaster - 9'6 8wt 2 pc. Graphite Fly Rod

For sale here is an early Orvis "Rivermaster" 9'6" 8wt 2 pc. graphite fly rod. The serial number was unrecorded when the rod was upgraded to a Winston aluminum down-locking reel seat by the previous owner. The rod is in excellent condition.

The rod features an unsanded graphite blank with transparent maroon colored wraps. Bright guides with a ceramic stripper. The sections fit together nice and tight as they should with sleeve over ferrules. Cigar grip 6 7/8" in length with mild soiling. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a teak spacer (R.L. Winston replacement). The rod weighs 3.35 oz. The action is a medium-fast compared to a modern graphite rod; full of feel and capable of considerable finesse. A wonderful classic graphite rod perfect for streamers, bass, salmon, or a variety of saltwater species. Includes the original bag and tube with maroon and silver foil label.
