For sale here is an impregnated Orvis "Wes Jordan" -- 8' 2/2 bamboo rod marked 4 3/8 oz. Serial no. 48096. Made in 1967 by the man himself, Wes Jordan. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features darkly tempered cane with caramel wraps. The wraps, as well as the wrap varnish, remain in beautiful condition. Bright guides. The script is as bright and bold as the day it was written and includes the original owners' name along with the usual rod specifics. U-shaped hook keeper. The cigar grip measures 6 3/8" in length with only mild soiling. The grip features a rarely seen thumb and palm indentation. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The original owner's name is engraved on the bottom of the butt cap. The blued step-down ferrules fit together perfectly. The rod is marked as an 8wt on the tube and a 7wt on the rod though I would definitely call it a 6wt. A line size or two down is usually best with older Orvis rods. The rod's actual weight is 4.65 oz. with a smooth and versatile medium-fast action. The rod includes the original grey bag and tube with blue and gold foil label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
