An EF Payne bamboo fly rod, 9', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for what feels to me like a #8 line. 6.2 ounces. Medium fast action. Based on the specs I think this would have been a model 210 or 212. All full length with the original wraps. Very little wear to the snake guides. Wrapped brown with red edges and a band of yellow and purple at the keeper and male ferrules. The varnish condition is fair/poor. There is bag imprint on all sections including the reel seat and some areas appear to have no varnish as someone may have tried to rub out some of the soft varnish. This rod would be a good candidate for a re-dip. The ferrule oxidation is 100% and the fits are good. The grip has been cleaned and has some small indentations where the guides have pressed into it while in the tube. The grip is 6 1/4" long done in a western style profile. The reel seat is an uplocking with a hidden pocket cap and a spacer of walnut. The screw nut has the more modern "Payne" in a cartouche and "Reg US Pat Off" stamp. Original bag and tube. No hang tag on the bag and the tube has the grey felt in the tube cap.
