A good fishable EF Payne fly rod, 9' 3-piece, 2-tip and built for a #5 or #6 line. This rod has a medium to medium slow action. All sections are full length and the rod appears to be original although well used. It has some crazing to the wraps, chips to the varnish, and oxidation on the ferrules. This rod is still very fishable with a little care not to get it too wet. Wrapped brown with red edges, an extra band of yellow and purple at the keeper and male ferrules. The keeper is 1 flat right. The western style grip is 6" long, dirty but in good original shape. The varnished spanish cedar reel seat is a cap and ring design with 90% of the oxidation on the ring gone. The cap has edgewear but 90% of the original oxidation is still there. Stamped "Payne" in a cartouche and "reg U.S. pat off" underneath. Comes with the original Payne tube with most of the label intact. It is missing the felt in the brass top and also missing the hang tag from the olive poplin rod bag.
