For sale here is a one-tip Payne Model 200L - 8' in length for a 4 weight line. The rod is in excellent original condition though it does have some very light bag burn as well as a few small chips in the varnish. All sections are full length and straight.
A classic Payne rod with the "Sold by Abercrombie & Fitch Co." die stamp on the up-locking ring of the reel seat, along with the Payne trademark die stamp. Spanish cedar spacer. There is a bit of normal wear around the rim of the butt cap. Chestnut wraps with gold tipping. Gold and purple tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. Oxidized hardware with the exception of the reel seat. Agate stripping guide. Ring hook keeper over the handsome swelled butt. The western-style grip measures 5 3/8" in length with mild soiling and a bit of light ridging. Excellent ferrule fit. The rod appears to be mostly in original condition with one exception. The male tip ferrule appears to have been re-blued and the ferrule wraps may be replacement silks, although proper and done a long time ago. The rod weighs 4 oz. with a smooth full flexing medium action with plenty of backbone from the butt section. A delightful small stream rod. Original bag and tube included.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
