A stunning Payne Model 201 fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for what feels to me like a #6. This rod is mint! I can find no signs that it has even been lawn cast let alone fished. Fairly quick feeling action, I would rate it for a #6 (and have listed it as such). The is a "Made for Abercrombie and Fitch" model, so it dates to the 1960's and includes the finial ferrule plugs. The varnish is just perfect, a real stunner. The usual Payne temper color and node placement. Brown wraps with yellow edges and a band of purple at the keeper and male ferrules. #10 perfection stripper and bronze snake guides. Perfect oxidation on the ferrules. The 6" long grip is done in a western profile with a hidden pocket cap under the heel. The wood seat spacer is varnished spanish cedar. The uplocking screwlock looks as if this rod was delivered yesterday. The die stamp reads "Payne" in a cartouche, and "Reg US Pat Off" and "Made for Abercrombie & Fitch". The rod bag is tan poplin with the original hang tag. The rod tube is original but the Payne label has a chip out of it. A very rare Payne in this kind of mint factory condition!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
