For sale here is a Payne Model 204 bamboo rod -- 8'6" 3/2 for a 5 weight line, weighing 4.60 oz. The rod is in excellent+ refinished condition. All sections are full length, straight, and repair-free.
The rod features handsomely tempered cane with cinnamon wraps and black tipping. Black, gold, and burgundy tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. However, the wraps lack a black band against the winding check as well as a black band on the ferrule end of the male and female ferrule wraps. Also, the tip-tops feature one and two black bands respectively to number the tips, not Payne-original. Original oxidized guides and one replacement tip-top. Ring hook keeper over a slightly swelled butt. The cigar grip is 5 1/2" in length with only light soiling and very smooth. Blued nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a gorgeous Spanish cedar spacer. The spacer has been very lightly buffed. The seat retains much of its original bluing. The butt cap reads, "MADE FOR ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO."
The ferrule fit is excellent. The ferrules may have perhaps been re-oxidized. The action is on the medium side of medium-fast. Includes a replacement bag and polished original tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
