Peterson, Erik - Linnea Rod Company Quad 8'4 4wt

For sale here is a Linnea Model 844-2 Quad bamboo rod by Erik Peterson. 8'4" for a 4 weight line. The rod has two sections and two tips. Here's Erik's description of this model: 

"This is a medium-fast rod designed for spring creek fishing. I like to fish this rod on Hat Creek when the Baetis emerge or on Bone Fish Flats on the Henry’s Fork when the Callibaetis Spinners are falling. The rod throws tight loops and is perfect for accurate casting when stalking large rising fish. This rod comes with a reel seat insert made from Choke Cherry, a shrub native to the Island Park area. According to René Harrop, the shrub was used by local native peoples for making bows and other weapons. René gave me some of this beautiful wood in 1995 and I continue to use it for my 844-2. Without question, I consider this to be my signature rod."

The rod has been fished sparingly and remains in excellent plus condition. All sections are straight. Medium flamed cane with dark olive transparent silks. Chestnut brown, olive, and black tipping at the ferrules, Winding check, and tip-tops. There are also 4 fine olive intermediates between the grip and the stripper on the butt section. Oxidized hardware throughout. Elegant full wells grip with very fine cork. The choke cherry reel seat is quite attractive as well as original. Up-locking sliding band reel seat. handsome choke cherry/cork butt cap. The rod only weighs 3 3/8 ounces. Original embroidered bag and original labeled tube with brass fittings.
