For sale here is an E.C. Powell 9' 2/2 5-6wt __-Taper semi-hollow bamboo rod. The rod is in excellent restored condition with a few exceptions. One tip has received a poor repair wrap 10" down from the tip-top. This tip is also a 1/4" longer than the other due to the bad alignment of the repair. There is also a third tip with the last 5 1/4" broken off indicating one of the other two was a repair tip though it is hard to tell which one. The rod could perhaps be a Tony Maslan or Walt Powell built rod. All sections are full length with a very mild set in the butt and sets in the tip sections.
Lovely pumpkin-toned cane. Honey wraps with black and gold wraps at the winding check. Bright replacement guides. The script was lost and has been re-written during the replacement. U-shaped hook keeper. The signature E.C. Powell-style grip measures 6 1/4" in length with mild soiling. Aluminum up-locking reel seat over a bakelite spacer. The seat features the "E.C. POWELL MAKER MARYSVILLE, CAL." stamp. The ferrules are size 14/64 with a great fit. The rod weighs 4.30 oz. The action is a smooth medium-fast with capable of considerable finesse and delicacy. The length of the rod allows for exceptional mending and drifts. Includes the original bag and no tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
