For sale here is an E.C. Powell - 9' 2/2 5-6wt B-9 Taper bamboo rod. The rod is in excellent condition. Though most of the rod remains original, the ferrules have been re-wrapped as well as a light varnish overcoat in a few areas. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features moderately tempered cane with bronzy golden wraps and full intermediates, beige and black tipping at the hook-keeper. Bright guides. The hollow-built patent number script on the butt remains as clean and bold as the day it was written. Snake hook keeper. The grip is moderately soiled but remains quite smooth. Bright aluminum, up-locking reel seat with a handsome bakelite spacer. E.C. Powell logo is stamped into the butt cap. The bright nickel silver ferrules are size 17/64 and feature indented witness marks. The fit is perfect with a smooth and snug seating. The rod weighs 4.95 oz. The action is medium-fast and this rod is a casting machine.....a DT6 just zips through the guides! The tips are thin and delicate enough to softly present a dry fly to a distant riser while the butt has plenty of backbone for windy days or big fish. It's easy to see why so many rod makers study the tapers of Powell. Don't miss out on this fantastic rod from one of the most influential makers in bamboo fly rod history. Includes original bag and tube. There is a small, easily mendable hole in the bottom of the butt section slot.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
