A nice RD Taylor fly rod, 6'10", 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #3 line. A semi parabolic rod with a medium-slow full-flexing action. Used but very good condition. The grip has a good amount of hand soiling but the ferrule fits are excellent and I can find no problems in the varnish. Tan colored cane in a 2 up node pattern. Mildrum carbide stripper and snake guides are wrapped brown-gold with red edges at the keeper and male ferrules. The step ferrules and hardware are bright. "239-114" is lettered on the wrap flat. The keeper is one flat right. The grip is a 5" cigar. I think the cap and ring reel seat wood is made from apple. As always Bob's hand-turned seat hardware is lovely to behold. The cap is stamped "R.D. Taylor, maker" in the cartouche. The cap and ring could use a little hand polish to get rid of a slight film of oxidation. The rod comes packed in a tan poplin bag and a brushed aluminum tube with brass top, collar, and bottom.
