For sale here is a Jim Reams hollowbuilt bamboo rod -- 8' with three sections and two tips for a 4-5 weight line. Serial no. 163-4-06. The rod is in near mint+ condition, lawn cast only. All sections are full length and straight. The rod features moderately tempered cane with transparent honey-colored wraps with oxblood tipping at the winding check and tip-tops. The ferrules are wrapped in mahogany tipped in oxblood. Blued guides and ferrules. The tips are numbered for convenience along with the serial number. Very gradually swelled butt. Full wells grip 6" in length. The cork shows only the slightest evidence of handling. Handsome blued nickel silver sliding ring reel seat with a beautifully figured, mortised burl wood spacer. Blued nickel silver "button" butt cap. The ferrule fit is perfect. The rod weighs an even 4 oz. The rod has a wonderful medium-fast action - crisp with excellent recovery. The butt provides ample power while the thin tips allow for finesse and tippet protection. A perfect all-around trout rod well suited for almost any situation. Includes original bag and labeled tube as well as a canvas cover for the tube.
The current price for a similar rod, new from Mr. Reams, is $3,500 with a substantial wait time of multiple years (but well worth it!)

Shipping Information
- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
