A nice Rick Robbins "Mainstem" model fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #4 line. Serial #615. 4.5 ounces. Looks to be in mint unused condition. Medium action flexing all the way down to the large swell that is one of Rick's signature features. Light wheatstraw oven temper cane and a three up node pattern. Tan wraps with red edges. Darker brown at the ferrules. Snake brand guides. Ferrules are oxidized and utilize the Maxwell-Marinaro style. Tips are mirrored. 5 1/2" long cigar grip. Maple cap and ring seat hardware which has some nice touches with the small knurls and there is a band of nickel silver inlaid lengthwise into the seat to keep the band from digging into the wood. The butt cap is stamped "Rick Robbins, Maker" in a cartouche. The rod is packed in a tan cloth bag and an aluminum tube with brass top and collar and Rick's data sticker on the tube and an oversock for the tube.
