RL Winston Bamboo Fly Rod 8'6" 3/2 #6

A nice RL Winston bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tips, built for a #6 line. Serial #3027, a Brackett era rod dating to 1995. The lettering on the rod states the weight as 4 5/8 ounces but my scale puts it at an even 5. Mint, zero signs of use although there are several bag guide dents in the grip from storage. Medium slow action. Light wheat straw temper and the nodes are in a three up pattern. Light tan wraps with dark maroon edges at the keeper, ferrules, and tip-tops. The varnish is comparable to the best in the business. 6" long blunt cigar grip. Nickel silver downlocking screw lock with a detached slide and pocket cap. Mortised stabilized reel seta of unknown rood. The rod is straight and the ferrule fits are good. The rod packs into an eggshell cloth bag with the Winston logo on the flap. Brown crackle paint aluminum tube with aluminum collar and top which are anodized gold. The Wisnton logo stickers is on the tube.
