A nice RL Winston bamboo fly rod, 8'9", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #7/8 line. Serial #2982, a Montana-era rod. The stated weight of the rod blank is 4 7/8 ounces, and the finished rod weighs 5.5 ounces on my scale. The action is on the faster side of medium. The rod is in near new condition, just with some minor grip darkening. Light wheatstraw color cane with three-up nodes. The wraps are light brown with maroon edges at the keeper, ferrules, and tip tops. This rod features two carbide strippers and chrome snake guides. The varnish is top shelf quality. The ferrule fits are excellent and the rod is straight. The grip is 6 3/4" long and styled to a half Wells profile. The seat is a downlocking nickel silver design with a nickel silver pocket cap. The bottom cap has the Winston logo in a circular cartouche. The rod packs into a white cloth bag with an embroidered Winston logo. The tube is brown crackle painted aluminum with gold anodized aluminum collar and top with the Winston data sticker.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
