"The product of sixty years' fishing and tying experience, the fly patterns [are based on the author's ] conviction that the broken outline of a 'fuzzy' nymph (or dry fly) is critical to fish perception, and thus acceptance, of the fly. This new edition presents twenty-five fuzzy nymphs, including caddis, mayfly, stonefly, damselfly, midge and shrimp andscud patterns. Eighteen of the nymphs are represented in their full life cycles, including dry-fly patterns. A picture of each finished fly appears in the color plates." This is the deluxe issue of the 1978 third edition. Fully bound in dark green bonded leather with gilt spine titles and page edges. Set within a recess in the upper board is a size six Golden Stone Nymph tied by the author. This edition was limited to just 300 numbered copies.
