Saga Rod 7'6 4wt hollow-built

SKU: VFT11815

For sale here is a Saga rod from Hokkaido, Japan featuring state of the art bamboo ferrules. 7'6 for a four weight line in a two section / two tip configuration. Hollow-built. Shinichiro Saga has been hand-crafting bamboo rods for over fifteen years and has developed quite a following in Japan and beyond. His rods are well-known for very smooth and powerful, medium to medium fast action performance. His bamboo ferrules have never failed and let me tell you, they've been field-tested by some of the most demanding casters. And....Shin's bamboo ferrules are much thinner than most. Shinichiro has been attending the Catskills Rodmakers' Gathering for a number of years now, garnering accolades from some of the best casters--and rodmakers--at these events. This rod comes with a beautiful three-compartment rod bag and rod tube.

Check out the first photo which will show you an example of the sea-run fish he catches with a #4 dry fly in Hokkaido with this FOUR weight rod taper!

Our little circle of friends likes to give Shin some flack about his resemblance to a guy like Paul H. Young when it comes to his attention to detail with his signature wraps on this rod. Try to find a Paul Young rod with mirrored tips! Shin responds, "My Rod are wrapping which is not sure so good, But the user of my Rod throws the dry fly size #4, and fishes such a 26-inch fish with the Rod of 7'6 #4 (The same action as Dave's Rod)." Dave here meaning Dave Brandt, one of the guys that tried to break this rod while casting the entire line at the Catskills gathering a few years ago. He couldn't break it, so he bought one :-)
