Saracione SCA Fly Reel 3 5/8" with Spare Spool [SALE PENDING]

A very nice Saracione SCA (Saracione Classic American) wide drum fly reel with a spare spool, 3 5/8" diameter and currently set up for RHW though easily convertible. Joe made these models in the mid-to-late 1980s, and they remain one of my favorites. They have an ingenious mechanism for removing the side plate with the click and pawl drag which allows for an easy change of retrieve direction or change of spool. This one is in excellent, lightly used condition, with a tiny  bit of rim rash in one spot on the frame, but very clean otherwise. Though fished, it has been very well taken care of. The 7 position click and pawl drag mechanism that is adjustable via a knob on the back plate. Champagne anodized frame and spool with black anodized side plates. The reel weighs 9.1 ounces on my scale and has a 1.2" spool width (this wide drum version is very hard to find). Classic S-handle design. The drag is smooth and has a nice, pleasing click. The spare spool may have been used as it has a very slight bit of discoloration towards the outer edges though it is minor. Silver anodized foot. The reel and spare spool pack into a double zipper fleece-lined suede pouch. These models don't come up often!
