For sale here is a Scott Rod Co. Model A2 653 -- 6'6" 3wt 2/1 graphite fly rod. Serial no. 228766. The rod is in excellent++ condition with only the slightest evidence of handing.
The rod features a matte sanded blank with black wraps and silver tipping at the signature wrap. Bright guides. U-shaped hook keeper. Reverse half wells grip with very little soiling. Up-locking reel seat over an attractive carbon fiber spacer. The butt cap shows light wear from honest use. The sleeve over ferrules fit together perfectly. The rod weighs in at a lean 2.30 oz. Despite being a 3wt the rod possesses plenty of backbone allowing for the utmost finesse and delicacy. A quick medium-fast dry-fly. A perfect brookie/cutthroat rod for those remote streams with tight coverage. Though the rod will excel at dry-flies it is certainly capable of fishing wets as well.
