For sale here is an impregnated J.S. Sharpe The "Aberdeen" 12' 3/2 8wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 6-9-1. Excellent original condition though the wraps could use a light varnish overcoat. All sections are full length with a minor set in one tip. The tips were made 1 1/8" shorter than the butt and mid.
Moderately tempered cane with burgundy wraps. Copper or brass wire wraps at the ferrules with burgundy tipping. The decals and script remain clean and bold free of any defect. The two-handed grip is a total of 21" from the winding check to the bottom of the fighting butt. The cork shows only the lightest soiling and is quite smooth. Aluminum cap and ring style reel seat. The hard rubber fighting butt is free of any cracks or chips. "J.S. Sharpe Ltd Aberdeen" is stamped into the fighting butt check. The oxidized brass ferrules are size 20/64 and 27/64 with a great fit. Red witness marks as well as "18" stamped into each ferrule. The rod weighs 14.90 oz. Includes original bag with label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
