For sale here is a Bob Summers Model 856 bamboo fly rod. 8' 2/2 for a 5-6wt line. Serial no. 22578. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. The rod features handsome dark mottle-flamed cane with exquisitely wrapped transparent, caramel brown silks matching the color of the cane. The script remains clean and bold and along with the rod information, the original owner's name is on one flat. Garrison-style hook keeper. Large cigar-style grip 6 1/2" in length with a finely turned walnut check at the rear. The cork grip is free of defects with only light soiling. Cap and ring reel seat over a mortised cork spacer. The butt cap is nickel silver while the ring is bright aluminum. The nickel silver swiss-style ferrules are size 15/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 4.20 oz. The action is medium-fast. Includes original bag and tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
