A nice Ted Simroe fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tip built for what feels to me like a #6 line. Serial #688. A very nicely done rod from one of the Leonard captains. The rod shows very modest use with light grip soiling. Medium fast action. Honey blond cane with 3 up node pattern. Light yellow wraps with cinnamon edges. Chrome stripping guide, snake guides, and tip tops. Polished swiss-style ferrules. "T. W. Simroe--Maker" is lettered 3 flats right, and 4 flats right "3865 #688". The 688 serial number is also lettered at the male ferrules. The keeper is 1 flat right. The grip is 13 corks, 12 1/2" long in a modified western style. There is a hidden pocket cap at the heel of the grip. The spacer wood is a well-varnished burl. A polished aluminum up-locking screw lock finishes the seat. Comes with the original light olive bag and aluminum tube painted brown with heavy brass collar and tube.
