A Thomas and Thomas "Caenis” bamboo fly rod, 6'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #3 line. Serial #3279. The rod weighs 2.9 ounces. Impregnated cane. Used but well cared for condition. There is some brassing to the cap ring and the start of cosmetic ferrule wrap cracks. There is also some light wear to the inner snake guides. The grip has been cleaned, leaving it slightly ridged. The rod is perfectly straight and the ferrule fits are excellent. Medium-fast action but full flexing (this rod seems like it would be a blast to land even medium-sized fish). Three-up node pattern. Dark wheatstraw color cane. Carbide stripper and dark snake guides. The wraps are light brown with darker brown edges and a black accent at the keeper, ferrules, and tip-tops. Wrapped dark brown at the ferrules. The ferrules are oxidized and are the standard T&T swiss style with a small collar on the males. The grip is 5" long with a cigar with the center mass slightly forward. The seat is a varnished walnut cap and ring with the “Thomas & Thomas, Makers” die stamp on the cap. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag and a polished aluminum tube with a brass collar and top.
