For sale here is the Thomas and Thomas Fountainhead Bamboo Rod - 7'6 3/2 4wt. There were only 20 of these made in 1983 to commemorate four of the earliest rodmakers - Phillippe, Green, Mitchell, and Murphy. Each of their names are stamped on the intricately engraved and elongated butt cap. T&T crafted this model with a mortised grip consisting of strips of mahogany spliced between the bamboo. Other beautiful and unique features include spiked ferrules and brown intermediate wraps, exquisitely applied. The varnish is flawless on the rod (the white specks in the photos are dust or polish that will wipe right off). The rod comes with the original tube and sock with the owner's name etched in the brass-collared tube cap. A couple of the wraps on one tip are the only items of note keeping this rod from being considered mint condition. You can see these in the photos if you look hard enough -- they aren't in need of repair in my opinion. The original owner mistakenly etched 8' on the brass collared tube cap as well, and on the T&T bag tag.
