For sale here is a gorgeous Thomas & Thomas "Midge" bamboo rod -- 8' 2/2 for a 5 weight line. Serial no. 2927 which dates the rod to 1976-1977. This is one of the hard to find varnished rods with polished aluminum tube -- the best of the best of the rods coming from T&T featured both. Rod is in excellent+ condition having been fished sparingly. All sections are full length and straight. Brilliantly crafted swelled butt section and blued hardware. The rod features one and two dots at the tip section ferrules to distinguish one from another. The cigar grip is 6 1/4" long with only light soiling and handling marks. Up-locking reel seat with engraved sliding ring over a mortised walnut spacer. The step-down Swiss-style ferrules are size 14/64 with an excellent fit. The last owner had Dave Kenney make a ferrule plug which is an added bonus. The rod weighs 4 1/2 oz. Terrific, smooth medium-fast action with plenty of power from the swelled butt and fine tips to allow for finesse and tippet protection. A wonderful trout rod. Includes original cloth bag with stiffener and unlabeled highly polished aluminum tube in amazing condition itself.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
