For sale here is a hollow-built A.J. Thramer 8'3" 3/2 5wt bamboo rod from his Classic Taper Series. The rod is based on a Gillum taper. Serial no. I201. The rod remains in mint condition having only been lawn cast. All sections are arrow-straight.
The rod features darkly flame tempered cane with copper colored wraps. Black and white tipping at the winding check, a nod to its Gillum pedigree. Deeply blued guides. Ring hook keeper. Classic cigar grip measures 6 1/2" in length that sits very well in the hand. Black aluminum down-locking reel seat over an African mahogany spacer. Blued Swiss-style truncated ferrules with a perfect fit. The rod weighs in at 4.60 oz. The action is a wonderfully crisp and smooth medium-fast with excellent recovery. The versatile taper maintains a terrific balance between strength from the gradually swelled butt and finesse and tippet protection in the fine tips. The length lends itself well mending and playing the fish. Includes the original bag with hang tag and tube with label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
