For sale here is a hollow-built Payne 204L taper bamboo rod built by A.J. Thramer. 8'6" 3/2 for a 5 weight line. Serial no. D114. The rod is in excellent condition. All sections are full length with a slight set in one tip.
Moderately tempered cane with chestnut wraps and gold tipping. Gold and black tipping at the winding check. Lightly blued guides. Agate stripping guide. Gradually swelled butt. Reverse half wells grip with moderate soiling. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The blued ferrules are size 17/64 and 11/64, the fit is perfect. The rod weighs 5.10 oz. - We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
