A Tufts and Batson bamboo fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #1408 which is noted on the tube cap. The rod weighs 3.5 ounces on my scale. The rod appears mint and unfished. Medium fast action. The rod is nice and straight and the ferrules seat well. Medium lightly flamed cane done in a three up node pattern. No writing on the shaft. Dark almost black wraps with light orange tipping and a lighter band of yellow at the tip top and ferrules. Agate stripper. Bright 11/64 ferrules with an accompanying ferrule plug. Blunt cigar grip with a stairstep front check and coin edge knurl on the rear check. Polished bright cap and ring reel seat over a dark wood spacer. The maker's mark and serial number are stamped into the back of the reel sat cap. The rod packs into a black cloth tube and an aluminum brass topped tube with the maker's sticker affixed to the outside and the maker, rod specs, and serial number engraved into the top cap.
