For sale here is a super scarce Edward Vom Hofe Model 355 Fly Reel - Size 4. Late 19th century reel (presumably made in 1895), owing to the lack of model number on the reel foot (instituted at the turn of the century), or serial number (instituted in 1908). This model was later dubbed the "Peerless" in 1911. Excellent original condition. Nickel silver rims, handle arm screw, counterbalance, sliding click switch, pillars and screws. The full length aluminum foot is in fine condition, straight and unmolested. Screw heads are in fine condition. No cracks in the hard rubber plates. Headplate shows slight scoring. The handle arm is straight and does not contact the headplate while winding. Mechanically the reel is excellent with a smooth and strong click. The original Edward Vom Hofe Model 355 reels in general are extremely difficult to find, even more so in this size. Don't let this one get away!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
