For sale here is a classic Edward Vom Hofe Model 423 "Restigouche" Salmon fly reel in excellent++ overall condition. Size 3/0 - 3 5/8" diameter, spool width of 1 7/16" and weighs 11 1/4 oz. This reel carries the 1902 patent on the oil cap. German silver safety bands and pair of double roller bars. The reel has a strong adjustable drag and click. This reel has the seven detent arrowhead pointer drag feature with very bright red dot indicators.The aluminum reel foot is full length, unmolested, and includes a 3/0 marking on it and serial number K149 dating the reel to 1918. The reelcomes with what appears to be its original leather case with replacement strap in excellent condition.
A great size that doesn't come on the market very often. And very rarely will you find an old Vom Hofe in such amazing condition, inside and out. For the collectors out there, this one will surely bump your existing 3/0 off the shelf.Don't let this one get away!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
