For sale here is a Glenn Brackett made R.L. Winston Rod Co. 7'9" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial #3845 with a marked weight of 3 5/8 oz. Excellent condition. All sections are full length and free of repairs. Slight sets in the tips.
Honey-colored guides and oxblood tipping. Tangerine colored agate stripping guide. The tips are numbered for convenience. Ring hook keeper. Bamboo winding check. Unique E.C. Powell-style grip 6 1/2" in length with light soiling. Bright nickel silver down-locking reel seat over a beautiful mortised wood spacer. The Duronze ferrules are size 13/64 with a great fit. The rod's actual weight is 3.90 oz. The action is medium-fast with excellent recovery. The gradually swelled butt provides ample strength and authority while the thin tips allow for delicacy, finesse, and tippet protection. This 7'9" Winston is arguably in the running for the perfect all-around trout rod. John Gierach makes the argument for the 7'9" 5wt for the perfect trout rod in several of his books.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
