For sale here is an early Montana-era R.L. Winston Rod Co. bamboo rod - 8' 2/2 for a 5 weight line with a marked weight of 4 oz. Serial #1832. Morgan/Brackett era. The rod is in excellent+ original condition appearing to have been fished very sparingly. All sections are full length and straight. 

Lightly tempered cane with honey wraps. Oxblood tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, ferrules, and tip-tops. The script remains clean and bold. The tips are numbered for convenience. Bronzed ring hook keeper. Knurled brass winding check. The full wells grip is 6 1/8" in length with minimal soiling. Down-locking aluminum reel seat over a handsome bakelite spacer, a remnant of the San Francisco-era rods. There are a few light scratches in the butt cap. The Duronze ferrules are size 14/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs in at 4.05 oz. The rod has a medium fast action. Includes original labeled red bag and labeled tube.

We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
Other Terms
Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
