For sale here is a R.L. Winston San Francisco-era fiberglass rod - 9'3" 5wt 2 pc. When Tom Morgan took over took over the company in SF, he improved the componentry of the fiberglass rods and this specific look was made for approximately one year. The rod is in excellent condition. Brown blank with crimson wraps. Gold tipping at the ferrules and tip-top. The script and Winston decal remain in excellent condition. Ritz/Full-wells style grip is only lightly soiled. Gold anodized aluminum down-locking reel seat is in excellent shape and appears to have been used very little. Spigot ferrules fit wonderfully with a 1/4" gap to allow for wear in the future. Weighs 3.05 oz. The powerful medium-fast action has a stout butt section that tapers to a thin tip capable of finesse and delicate casts when called upon, as well as great tippet protection - fiberglass at its best. This rod was made for big western rivers throwing streamers, and medium to large dries. It would make for a perfect belly-boat rod. Original red bag with SF label and tube with "Loving Cup" label intact as well. A great rod from the R.L. Winston rod company.
