For sale here is an R.L. Winston - WT 8'6" 5wt 3 pc. graphite rod. Serial no. 138410. The rod is in very good condition. It does, however, show wear from honest fishing use throughout. Also, the third guide down from the tip-top is broken and will require attention at some point. The butt section male ferrule is also loose and needs resetting. Classic Winston, dark green blank with matching wraps and burgundy tipping at the signature wrap and gray tipping at the R.L. Winston label halfway between the grip and stripping guide. Ceramic stripping guide insert. Bright guides. Spigot ferrules for a more streamlined profile as well as a more efficient transfer of energy. The sections fit together tightly as they should with a 1/8" gap to allow for wear over time. U-shaped hook-keeper. Fine, knurled, nickel silver checks. Reverse half-wells grip is moderately soiled with very light ridging in places. Handsome, nickel silver up-locking reel seat with a burled maple spacer. Etched on the butt cap, " R.L. Winston Rod Co.". The rod weighs 2 5/8 oz. The action is on the faster side of medium-fast compared to today's ultra fast rods.
