For sale here is an R.L. Winston XTR 9' 8wt 3 pc. graphite fly rod designed for saltwater use. Serial no. 78501. The rod is in excellent++ condition.
The rod features a green sanded blank with matching wraps, burgundy tipping at the winding check and signature wrap. The "R.L. Winston" logo decal remains in perfect condition as does the silver script on the butt. Ceramic stripping guides. The full-wells grip measures 7" in length. The grip features a rather dramatic taper that provides a nice strong grip to maximize casting efficiency. Black anodized aluminum up-locking reel seat with a 1 1/2" cork and black foam fighting butt. The sleeve over ferrules fit together perfectly, nice and tight as they should be. The rod weighs 4.65 oz. the action is fast yet retains feel for accuracy and finesse. A terrific bonefish rod though it is well suited for many saltwater species and even largemouth bass.
