For sale here is a scarce Paul H. Young "Midge" bamboo fly rod. 6'3" with two sections and two tips for a four weight line. Serial no. 4252 made in 1966 by Bob Summers. The rod is in excellent plus and original condition. All sections are full length and straight. The rod is mottle-flamed with bronze colored wraps. Oxidized guides. The script remains clean and bold and reads "Midge 6'3" 1 3/4 oz." on one flat, and "A Paul H. Young Co. Rod" on another. Petite cigar grip 5 1/4" in length with very light soiling. Dual black aluminum ring reel seat over a mortised cork spacer. The rod features truncated swiss-style ferrules with an excellent fit. The rods actual weight is 2.05 oz. The action is parabolic and on the fast side of medium-fast. The original satin-like rod bag is in perfect condition, a rarity in itself as usually these satin bags deteriorated quite noticeably with moderate use and age. The original Champion-style tube in great condition also.

There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
