Paul Young Para 15 Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Paul H. Young Rod Co. Para 15 bamboo rod. Serial number is #2125. Comes with a wet tip and a dry tip. The rod weighs 3 7/8 oz. with either tip. There is a protective wrap over a scarf repair on the dry tip, 1 7/8" in length between the 3rd and 4th guides up from the ferrule. This tip is slightly shorter than the wet tip as a result of this repair. With the dry tip, the rod casts very nicely with a DT5. One could use a 6 line with the wet tip as well. There is a very small lift on the wet tip between the 4th and 5th guide. I would recommend the buyer send the rod to Bob Summers upon purchase to perhaps have him address this very minor issue. The rest of the rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are straight. The cane is is darkly mottle-flamed. Red spiral tipping at the ferrule on the dry tip, "DRY" is also written. Handwriting on the rod is that of Paul H. Young. Along with rod information, "Frank M. McDonald - X-mas '57" is written on one flat. Garrison style hook-keeper. Cigar grip with light soiling. Down-locking cap and ring reel seat with cork spacer. Slight wear on the butt cap. Swiss style ferrules size 15/64 fit very well. Original bag in very good condition with what appears to be an original Champion tube though the collar is rather bright. An absolute classic rod from one of the most celebrated makers in bamboo. Get this one for a fraction of a typical PHY-made Para 15.
