For sale here is a scarce Paul H. Young Para 16 bamboo rod. The rod is in excellent restored condition. There is an invisible repair wrap on one tip under the first guide down from the tip-top. Also there are two invisible lift wraps on this tip between the 6th and 7th guides from the tip-top. The one furthest up is 1" and the one closer to the ferrule is 1 1/4". One small chip in the varnish exists below the "Y" in the script. All of the restoration work was performed by Glenn Brackett while at R.L. Winston. The second tip has no repairs. Nickel silver cap and down-locking ring over cork. Reverse half wells grip. Slight ridging in the cork. Golden silks compliment the cane in an understated way. Brackett's handwriting appears on 4 flats. First flat: "The Paul H. Young Rod Co.". Second flat: " 'Para 16' ". Third flat: "8 1/2' - 4.375 oz". Fourth flat: "H.C.H or H.C.F". The ferrule size is 16/64 and the fit is excellent. Medium-fast parabolic action. As stated in the script, for a 7 weight line. The rod weighs 4 7/8 oz.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
